Artist Statement
It's difficult to come up with the why of it all, when asked. Artists have a myriad of reasons for why they create, or what led them down their path. As much can also be said about what brought them to work with their chosen artforms. This proves true for me as well.
Whether it's writing, shooting, or working with my hands, art has always been a part of my life. My love of photography and being able to freeze time, led me to study photojournalism. Although, photojournalism is no longer a career for me, I am so thankful that I experienced it, because I still shoot almost daily. In the past few years, I dove deeply into a more hands-on art. Most recently, I have been transforming dolls into something different from what they were.
As we all know, life can be very trying these days, but I have found that creating art can work wonders for the heart and soul, and is a great stress-reliever too. Sure, shooting guns or going on a hike can work too, but I think I exorcise more demons when I'm creating. With that said, I hope you enjoy my art.
